Too often my memory fails me, And I lose things all the time. One minute I know what I plan to do, And the next it may just slip my mind. I try hard to avoid my mirror. There are things I would rather not see, And even those times when I just catch a glimpse, I can no longer recognize me. The things I used to do with ease Can now cause aches and pains, And the quality of the things I do Will never be quite the same. Changing Faces

Hi, I have always really loved writing and this is one of the poems I wrote about a story I read in a newspaper. It shows how life is hard and changes and many people lose their way in their path to find peace. Thank you and I hope you enjoy it. Under a democratic shield, Beneath the enticing charm, Lies an autocratic exterior, Revealing cursed ideas, cruelty and harm. In a coalescence of evil, Where the good man stands alone, And evil pierces a man's heart, His true integrity, never shown. And she, full of mesmerizing beauty, A dutiful, dependable dove, With a heart as the moist as the allure, Within the man who licked away her love. The letter she adored, As his plan began to mould, But she never glanced behind the curtains, Where the man watched beneath the subtle folds. Don't Wait Until I Am Gone

Treat me with love, dignity, respect and compassion Now as I am healthy, vibrant and alive. Don't wait to hear that I am sick and dying To love me the way I was meant to be loved. Bring me flowers and candy on any day just because. Don't wait for a holiday, love and cherish me every day. Tell me I am beautiful. See my beauty in my body and soul. Don't wait to see that I am disfigured And then tell me that I am beautiful Because you think that is what I want to hear. Talk to me lovingly now so I can hear your beautiful voice And listen to the ringing of your laughter. Don't try to talk to me that way now That I am deaf and can no longer hear your sweet voice. Speak words of love and compassion So I can remember those conversations Even though I may not be able to hear them again. Come one day and you will be sad, you will be sorry!
