Happy new year

Brush away old heartaches. Learn from our mistakes. Another year is finally over. A new dawn awakes. Let the old year out. Welcome the new one in. Bury the bad things of the past As a new year now begins. Make your New Year wishes As simple as you can. Pray for peace and love, Not for wealth or fame. Pray for health and happiness. Pray for your fellow man. Pray for all the ones you love. Pray for those who've lost their way. As the midnight hour chimes, We leave the old and embrace the new. I wish the things you wish for yourself, And may God’s love stay with you Happy new year.

TEACH ME

Poem written out of Emotions for a lady Story behind : A copy right of a movie Titled BEATZ RHYMES AND LOVE just make sure you enjoy the poem. She does to me What winter does to the trees She strips me bare, naked and empty. I laugh to myself, because... I can't sing, it's just..  She makes me want to try and harmonize. Like I've got no worries bothering me tomorrow. Like I've got no dirty clothes hamper full of yesterdays ,stinking up what future is left in me. But I really ain't no saint, Never felt love true bliss. A disciple of my father, I learned to love with clenched fists. I learned to love like reading braille on skin. Tracing the insecurities of women through the palms of their hands. But with her, it was different. See, she was in every single word I wrote. She walked a poets refrain. Spoke a sweet soliloquy. But I recognize the lack of trust in my own heart. Because only a fool won't accept the nourishment that's right...

If Only She Knew

If Only She Knew ©  Kiara Wilson Published: August 22 2018 She has her own special way Of turning around my terrible day She makes all the bad things go away The second that she says hey And when I look into her eyes I see pure beauty with no disguise Just a glance at her makes my heart beat rise I know for a fact that these feelings aren't lies If only she knew How much my love for her grew Maybe, just maybe we could start something new And if beauty was inches, she'd go on for miles I better catch her before I go out of style I'm going to let my heart be my dial So I can tell her what I've been feeling for awhile.

Live Your Life

Image
Story behind: Techs Poem from Act of Valor (2012) based on True life Story. Title: Live Your Life So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none. When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose heart...

Even When

Story Behind: I wrote this poem that I hope will stick in people's minds. I have had to go through a lot, and I know that I should probably try and stay cheerful, so I started to write this poem. It really touched my teacher and my parents. Topic : Even When Even when those storm winds are blowing, I'll stand and fight them knowing I'm not alone, Not on my own. Even when there's hatred brewing, I know what I'll be doing; I'll laugh and smile, Send it away awhile. Even when there's a huge earthquake, I'll stand tall and I won't shake; Let the pain go, Let my joy show. Even when there's a strong hurricane, I'll wade unbending through the pain; Help those who've fallen, Welcome those who're calling. Even when someone's been deserted, I know they didn't deserve it; Become their friend, It's not the end.

Chasms And Bridges

Story :Ted L Glines has been writing since 1965, with many poems published in college literary magazines and the "underground" free press (Village Voice, etc.). Poet: © Ted L Glines Topic: Chasms And Bridges Whether dancing the circle or sitting in the pews, the world is full of wonder and knee-jerk news. For those full of spite and woeful complaining, the world is full of darkness; no hope remaining. Diversity spawns, attacking spasms, elevating hate and deepening the chasms. You are who you are, smart as a fox; why confine yourself to a bleak little box? For those full of love and compassion caring, the world is full of brightness and warmth in sharing. Diversity spawns a chance to build bridges, elevating love and life privileges. You are who you are, smart as a fox; expressing yourself, you're out of that box! We can make this world a beautiful place if we toss away frowns and put smiles on our face. Abolish that burden of com...
